About Julia Pascoe

In my paintings I try to capture the beauty and atmosphere of the places I love in Cornwall.  I am a self-taught artist specialising in watercolours, and also work in acrylics and pastels.
Moving to Newquay as a child, I have lived in Illogan near Redruth with my husband and children for the past twenty-five years, and have been painting local scenes since leaving school.  I was a member of the Newquay Society of Artists for many years, and subsequently the Truro Art Society where I take part in their regular exhibitions.
I enjoy painting areas that are close to my home such as Illogan, Redruth, Portreath and the North Cliffs.  I am also inspired by Cornwall’s mining heritage, historic buildings and gardens, countryside, fishing villages and magnificent coastline.
